TweetDeck - Tweetdeck is an Adobe Air applications for the PC and the Mac. TweetDeck provides you with a great user interface to help you track and post tweets. It even allows you to organize and update Facebook, as well as preview short URLs.

Flip4Mac – Flip4Mac is a plug-in for Quicktime that allows you to view Windows Media Files. They also have a paid ersion that allows you to import and edit, but the player is all most people will require.

Handbrake - Handbrake is an open-source video transcoder that allows you to convert DVDs for playback on other devices, such as iPads. Read up on the tool at their site and make sure whatever you’re doing with it does not break any laws in your area.

Inkscape - Inkscape is a powerful Open-Source vector graphics editor to Adobe Illustrator.  Great design tool that’s absolutely free.

Camino - While Safari has come a long way, some might decide on a different web browser. Besides, it doesn’t hurt to have more than one.  Firefox is another great web browser, but you probably already know about that one!
